They also put on an engine cover tab backwards, but I fixed that because it was easy and I wanted it done right.

MSNBC?! You must live in one of those Coastal Elite Commie cities. Here in the South if dealership waiting areas play anything but Fox news there would be riots. Riots, I say!

Current plan: double down and get a Golf R for faster everything! More speed! More turning! More breakdowns!

I know your pain. In the five years I’ve owned my pickup, it’s been on a lift for about 2 hours.

No clue. I’m guessing loose engine mount.

I’m really hateloveing this new series. Might cancel my Hulu.

There is... But according to the local Indy, this is the lesser of the two evils. There a couple of good ones in Charlotte, and another one in Augusta if all else fails.

My local gym has Fox, MSNBC, and paw patrol on in most of the rooms. It's weird.

All the Golf Rs are built in Germany.
The difference in build quality is astonishing.

Was the car defective from the factory or is your dealer just making relatively minor things worse through incompetence?
![]() 01/09/2019 at 14:27 |

Initially faulty, but they've seemed to make it worse.

The door hasn’t fell off yet, nor has it stranded me, so I still think I’m slightly ahead.

This is not good - if the Charlotte dealers were magically able to make everything better that would be ideal.

Yeah, 90% of the car’s problem has been the dealer. Faulty parts leave the factory, it happens. 100% of the current issues are dealer caused.

It wasn't dripping, now it is.

During my short time at a VW dealer I never saw any issues with the German-made cars, and nothing but problems in all the NA cars.
I’m sure his powertrain was made in NA. And obviously, it shows.

100% agree you win for now.... :) in all seriousness feel bad you're going through all that good luck with the rest hope they start treating you right

Yeah, I’ve been keeping in touch with VW Customer Care over the past few days.

Yes! IIRC they get three tries to fix it, whether they are competent or not.

Honestly, it’s time to start brushing up on Lemon Law. I think they get three chances to fix it? I do think you have to notify them at some point you are going that way though, so better to figure it out now . Even if they could get it fixed eventually, I’m not sure I’d trust their work if it took them that many attempts.

It’s 30 days at dealer or 3 attempts at repair in a span of the first 12/12k.
